Welcome to my site. I am still working on it the moment. For the time being, here is a guide to creating amazing quality MP3's which you won't be able to distinguish from the original uncompressed version.

Firstly, you will need to download Exact Audio Copy (0.9b4). You can download it here, complete with everything else you'll need in one zipped file.

Lets have a look at what you just downloaded. You have the executable EAC program file. Also there is lame 3.90.3 (the MP3 encoder we will use, and the one that will give the best quality). Next there is 'winaspi32.dll' this is the recommended interface between your cd or dvd rom and windows. Lastly there is 'simonharrison.CFG'. This is a profile you will load which configures all EAC settings, saving you needless experimentation.

Here is what you should do with each file:

1.Install Exact Audio Copy (usually to C:\Program Files\Exact Audio Copy)

2.Copy 'winaspi32.dll' to - C:\Program Files\Exact Audio Copy

3. Copy 'lame.exe' to - C:\Program Files\Exact Audio Copy

4.Copy 'simonharrison.CFG' to - C:\Program Files\Exact Audio Copy\Profiles

Once you have done all that, start EAC. At the bottom of the screen you'll see a box which reads 'No Profile Selected'

Click the drop down arrow to the right and select 'simonharrison' this will load the settings that I use and are guaranteed to give the best quality MP3's. If it is not there, then you haven't copied it to the correct directory. See number 4 in the above list!

Next, from the main menu (running along the top of the screen) click on 'EAC' then 'freedb / Database Options'

Enter an email address in the first box. The second box should already have a server address in it.

Lastly, on the left side of the EAC window are a number of icons. The first one says WAV, then MP3 etc. Click on MP3 and you are away.

Have fun...

Note: This guide is for windows users only. Sorry to everyone else. Also, I will be adding to it soon, this is just a quick start guide.
